Annotations from the artist's personal journal
"Classes and notes from different periods" by Cecilia Marcovich
On the eternal principles of art:
"There are certain principles that are applicable to all periods of art history.
Why do they continue to move us? Because they are eternal."
About the masters of the past:
"We are not inspired by the Masters of the past to copy or imitate them.
They painted their reality, we paint ours."
About sculpture:
"For me the word sculpture is synonymous with Universe
with all its laws of strength, balance and harmony ...
To reach its monumental significance it is necessary to arrive at a great synthesis after the analysis.”
About life:
"I think that, with the way things are going, a useful effort is to learn to die. To fight, thinking firmly that, at any moment, it it might be our turn to end. I see it clearly and I don't care."
